Tuscan Style Eco Firebox – New Castle NH

Watch this project as we build a Tuscan style fireplace and direct wood fire bake oven with an Eco Firebox

Watch this Tuscan style project evolve.  A Client with an absolutely gorgeous New England home situated in the coastal town of New Castle New Hampshire, wants a Tuscan style fireplace with direct wood fire oven and some extras.  Oh, and it has to be clean, green and ultra efficient to take the bite out of their heating oil bill. This is where the Eco Firebox shines.

We will reuse the existing chimney and support system.  The brick veneer and pad will be removed.

Below is a first pass design and rendering for a new Tuscan style Eco Firebox masonry heater.  Our customers find it helpful to see a scaled drawing of their Eco Firebox helping them choose colors, textures, shapes and sizes.  It’s easy and fun to swap out colors and other materials with a click of a mouse button to see changes and ideas take life.

The extended hearth in front of the firebox will change

The remaining hard-finished lines on the corners of the eco firebox will be rounded to soften its appearance.  I like to cantilever elements where possible which can add a touch of modernism to a traditional design. I may extended the hearth to left to meet the nook or move the fireplace to the right a bit to gain space to extend the hearth to the right for greater symmetry.

  1. The heater looks real nice... Love the brick work and the angled design. Maybe I'll order one for my house someday.
